When selecting equipment based on the full load current of the driver on the motor nameplate, do not use the service factor of the motor. In the current market, universal frequency converters typically include both heavy-duty and normal load ratings in a single drive device. For example, on a single frequency converter, it displays: rated power of 20 hp, heavy load, overload of 150%; Rated load of 25 hp, normal load, overload of 120%. Therefore, it has two full load current ratings. For example, the nameplate of a 460V frequency converter displays “20HP HD/25HP ND” and “31.7A HD/39.2A ND”. Through frequency converter programming, users can choose whether the frequency converter is in normal load mode or heavy load mode, and select current and overload ratings.
