VBX01TA ABB Bus Extender


The VBX01TA integrates network connectivity and expansion capabilities to provide a modern, versatile SSI feedback solution for any plc based system. The module is expandable to six 2-channel modules, allowing the user to interface up to 12 SSI sensors using a single network connection. The interface is programmed through the host controller’s (PLC) software and is compatible with most grey code or binary SSI sensors, including rotary encoders, linear sensors, barcode readers and laser distance sensors.The module’s interface features include: direct interface to most grey code or binary SSI sensors; built-in network interface; simplified scaling of sensor data to position; locking inputs to provide “snapshot” data capture; support for up to 12 SSI sensors on a single network connection; simple programming with no additional software; and rail mounting.

The VBX01TA offers a 4.3″ colour touch screen for a clear and simple operator interface. The touchscreen and five function keys are housed in a flat fascia unit with an IP66/IP65/NMA4X rating, The VBX01BA features communication options including Ethernet, cellular and industrial protocols such as MODBUS, DF1 Slave, Barnes Networks, J1939, Campbell etc. In addition, “Protocols” are available on the VBX01BA. In addition, the “Protocol” utility allows Vision 430 communication via virtually any ASCII protocol. The unit can be accessed directly via the small UBC programming port and remotely via GLU/GSM/CDMA and other IP networks for data acquisition and programme download. Another major benefit is the ability to notify supervisors of important information via email and SMS, allowing for real-time remote management.
