MVTU11K1CD0751G provides an efficient method of integrating smart grid compatible IEDs with the Schneider Electric Unified Series, which includes the Quantum, Advanced, and M340 programmable automation controllers, as well as any other MODBUS Trade Agreement/IP device.The MODBUS/IP Connection Information System 61850 Gateway supports common Information Systems 61850 applications, including substation automation, off-loading and advanced SCAD data collection. The gateway enables SCAD control systems on MODBUS Trade Agreement/IP networks to collect, monitor, trend, and control granular real-time data from up to 45 IS 61850 IEDs at the process level (e.g., relays and switching gear), at the bay level (e.g., protection devices), and at the substation automation level (e.g., PLC/PACS and SCAD control systems).

The configuration utility that provides the gateway uses an IED configuration file (CDH) to import the complex ISIS 61850 data structure and then maps the ISIS 61850 tags to MOBUS Trade Agreement/IP registers. The mapped IED tag structure can be exported directly to the Unified Professional Quantum, Premium and M340 projects. IED-provided geese, report control blocks and MMS read messages are written to the MODBUSTTP/IP server when status changes occur. The gateway’s time is synchronised to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC system) through periodic update requests. The gateway is tightly integrated with the Unified Pro Series, providing automatic generation of application-specific variables and function block files. Simple Explosive Device Drag & Drop 61850 data attributes allow easy MODBUS mapping, and configurations can be stored on an industrial SD card that comes with the gateway for disaster recovery.
