The MTL 8939-HN provides a secure bootloader for secure firmware upgrades. Microchip has partnered with —- Trust, a member of the Microchip Secure Design Partnership programme. Microchip has also partnered with secure TINGZ and Data I/O companies to provide secure supply services to SAML11 customers. Both families of microcontrollers offer capacitive touch functionality with Microchip’s Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC). The touch interface makes the devices suitable for a myriad of automotive, appliance, medical and consumer human machine interface (HMI) applications.

The MTL 8939-HN enhances the DG Box Build Controller with data flow software so that DGUK users can create logic sequences in a modern visual programming graphical interface. Users can connect and command all devices, objects and operations as “smart blocks” of inputs and outputs without having to write any scripts. Data Flow also provides the ability to simultaneously structure, command and create logic between devices in a single environment. Traditionally, a single programmer writes a piece of code, tests it and repeats it. Now, multiple users can simultaneously create logic, structure, code and command all data source points in real time across multiple computers.

The Device Identity Synthesis Engine (DISES) security standard is now supported, providing a simple way to increase the basic security of embedded products. In addition, a development kit is available that provides designers with everything they need to incorporate the Dice security standard into their products.The MTL 8939-HN is an approach that can be implemented in the hardware of a secure product during manufacture. The architecture breaks the boot process down into layers and creates unique secrecy and integrity metrics for each layer, automatically rekeying and protecting secrets if malware is present. One of the key benefits of using the CS1702 with secure boot is that it enables device manufacturers to create a chain of trust for multi-load firmware.
