Description

MAX-4/11/03/128/08/1/1/00 Peripheral Devices

The MAX-4/11/03/128/08/1/1/00’s system consists of a master and a slave. The master is able to control the bus and can actively send information when the master gets control of the bus. Masters can be further categorized into Class I masters and Class II masters. A class 1 master is the one that can decide the data communication of the bus, and when the master gets the right to control the bus, it can send the information actively without external request. Two types of masters are operator workstations, programmers, operator interfaces, etc., to complete the data read/write, system configuration, troubleshooting, etc., at each site.

MAX-4/11/03/128/08/1/1/00 slaves are simple peripheral devices. Typical slaves are sensors, actuators and transmitters, which do not have the right to control the bus, and only give answers to the received information or send back the corresponding information to the master when the master sends out a request. Typical slaves include: inputs and outputs, valves, actuators and measurement transmitters. Masters communicate with each other using a token ring, and masters and slaves communicate with each other using a master-slave method. In this paper, one type of master is a PLC, and two types of masters are general-purpose PCs.
