KJ2221X1-BA1 safety I/O module and safety PLC programming software are now available as part of a complete system solution designed by KEB. All new safety products are certified to ISO 61508SIL3 and ISO 13849-1LE. The Safety PLC is a Fail Safe Over Ethernet (FSOE) controller that performs and monitors machine safety functions in synchronisation with the machine PLC. The FSOE uses a blackout method and can be used in conjunction with other bus systems. KEB’s Safety PLCs Connects to other FSOE auxiliary modules such as safety I/O and servo drives with safe movement functions. Provides connectivity to all Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCS), Ethernet/IP and Control Logix devices and routing, including Data Highway Plus (DH+) and Ethernet/IP.

KJ2221X1-BA1 via serial connections, single-port Allen-Bradley 1784-PKTX PCI cards, and Ethernet connections, which represent true “universal connectivity”. Providing a time-saving feature not found in other drivers for many servers, KEB now offers dedicated safety I/O modules for monitoring safety devices using safety PLCs. Each FSOE auxiliary device has four safety inputs, two safety outputs and four OSSD outputs. Because these modules use Ethernet cats for fast, real-time communication, they are also ideal for existing systems or installations requiring a scalable solution. One FSOE manager can control up to 65,535 slave devices. The Safety Editor can be used with KEB’s FSOE Safety PLCs and I/Os. This single programming environment allows the programmer to develop the entire machine, including motion control and safety, in one software programme. KEB’s Safety Editor uses a certified plug-in from CODISY and a programme with function blocks. The Kobius Studio is also used to configure KEB’s Safe Motion Drive, which also supports FSOE and Safe Motion functions.
