The polyester (PET) plant of Jiangxi Longpeng Special Fiber Co., Ltd. was designed by China Textile Industry Design Institute. It uses a domestically developed five reactor process route of direct esterification and continuous polycondensation using antimony acetate as catalyst, titanium dioxide as extinction agent, purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG) as raw materials to produce fiber grade semi dull polyester chips. The main control system is a Distributed Control System (DCS), which uses Honeywell’s PKS system. This article focuses on the application of PKS system in the device.
2. System Introduction
2.1 System composition
PKS (Process Knowledge System) is the abbreviation for Process Knowledge System. The PKS control system is a new medium-sized control system launched by Honeywell in June 2002. It combines the convenient configuration features of the Plantscape system and the hardware advantages of the TPS control system to launch a brand new DCS control system. The PKS system structure of our polyester plant is shown in Figure 1.
