In the “8.13” project of our factory, three sets of foreign DCS systems were used for the automatic control instrument part. The DCS of the gas making and synthesis plants used Honeywell’s TPS system, while the DCS of the urea plant used Rosemount’s RS3. DCS, abbreviated as Distributed Control System, is commonly referred to as a distributed control system in China. It includes the application achievements of 4C technology and integrates functions such as continuous control, batch control, sequential logic control, and data collection. Although DCS adopts a centralized approach in management, operation, display, and recording; In terms of control, a decentralized work mode with dispersed functions, dispersed loads, and dispersed hazards has been adopted. However, if any link in the DCS system encounters a problem, it will bring serious consequences. Therefore, it is particularly important to use and maintain DCS correctly to ensure its long-term safe operation.
