The LDD6020 data transmission modem establishes a point-to-point data communication channel through telephone switches and dial-up services. Each on-site instrument terminal requires a phone number to establish a data link through dial-up. It has an extremely fast link establishment time, with LDD6020 taking less than 3 seconds from the other party’s pick up to link establishment, saving a lot of time for subsequent data collection and also improving the response time of the monitoring system. However, the establishment time of ordinary external dialing+dedicated line modem links is as little as tens of seconds, which is particularly important for industrial field data collection. LDD6020 is compatible with the AT instruction set and randomly provides program examples, making programming extremely easy. If the instrument is called, the device can automatically pick up and enter the data transmission state. The instrument itself can use a telephone line to remotely access its data without any protocol modifications.
Dedicated line method
The dedicated line LDD6020 data transmission modem establishes a point-to-point data communication channel through a pair of physical solid lines or an audio channel provided by a fiber optic network or carrier machine. The maximum distance between the data center and on-site instrument end can reach 10 kilometers. It has a much longer transmission distance than RS485.
