Description

GE WES5120 5120-1506 Network Interface Card

The GE WES5120 5120-1506 is a solution for monitoring and controlling liquid leaks in warehouses, computer rooms, factories, laboratories, or any large indoor space where monitoring and control of potential water damage is a concern.
It consists of a leak detection controller in a DIN rail mounted enclosure and up to 1500m of leak sensing cable. The controller is capable of detecting leaks and indicating their location as a distance along the cable from the controller. The LKC-1500 controller has an LCD and three push-button switches that allow the user to access a menu of options and select from a variety of programmable functions. During normal operation, the display shows the system status or location of any leaks. The controller can be powered from a 210-250VAC mains supply (105-130Vac, US version) or from 10-24Vac or 12-32Vdc via the low voltage power terminals.

The controller has a variety of process outputs including two SPDT relays for direct control of mains powered pumps, valves or alarms, provides an open collector transistor for connection to a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Building Management System (BMS) or indirectly to drive additional valves or pumps via external relays, and finally remote monitoring and control via the RS485 Serial Communications Port. The controller is capable of detecting damaged or terminated valves or pumps. The controller can detect damaged or improperly terminated sensing cables and can assign relay and transistor outputs to respond to leaks or faults.

Each controller can use sensing cable lengths between 15m and 1500m, with the location of the leak measured along that length of cable. The cable has a 4-pin DIN plug at one end and a DIN socket at the other. A cable with a socket is required to connect the first section of the sensing cable to the controller. The wires in this cable are colour coded to match the terminals on the controller: B for blue or black, Y for yellow, G for green and R for red. The controller can be used in conjunction with a deeternet wireless gateway to provide the user with continuous monitoring of their system. It can be configured so that whenever a leak is detected in the system, an alarm can be set up to provide notification of the location of any leak via email or text message so that it can be dealt with as soon as possible. When the deeternet wireless gateway is used in this manner, it can monitor multiple LKC-1500 controllers simultaneously. The wires in this cable are colour coded to match the terminals on the controllers: B for blue or black, Y for yellow, G for green and R for red.The LKC-1500 controllers can be used in conjunction with the deeternet Wireless Gateway to provide the user with constant monitoring of their system.
