The GE UR8LH adds high-tech flexibility to validated control systems, enabling fast, accurate, and efficient material handling while increasing the throughput of distribution centers. The new features include built-in network graphical human-machine interface (HMI), multi processor functionality, and support for various I/O platforms. The FKI Logistex BOSS system is a complete, PC based control solution that enables distribution center managers to guide and measure the productivity of their material handling systems. It combines productivity monitoring tools, machine control, data collection, system diagnosis, and HMI into one software package. Unlike PLC-based systems that require multi-level control, the status and diagnostic screens automatically adapt to the appearance of the local platform. It also includes many additional standard HMI screens for system performance, cardboard tracking, alarm monitoring, etc. When special screens are needed, the BOSS HMI can be customized for various applications. These new features provide tremendous flexibility to meet customer requirements and support capabilities. The new integration of the system The user management centralized the configuration of system access. Personal access permissions can be configured based on default work or role permissions, allowing the system to automatically adjust which screens each person can use. User access information is configured once, and then automatically shared with all client instances of HMI, thereby reducing system management work.

GE UR8LH utilizes a powerful real-time operating system (RTOS) to provide flexible and information rich PC based control solutions. The new enhanced multiprocessor support in BOSS allows a single controller to manage, control, and process more data and devices, providing new opportunities for control implementation. The I/O support in BOSS now includes ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and the flexibility to add additional I/O support as needed, such as ASI and Profibus platforms. The new BOSS version continues the tradition of FKI Logistex’s industry-leading controls and high-tech features. This new version continues the commitment to customers, allowing FKI Logistex BOSS customers to leverage its control over investments and easily migrate existing applications. After migration, older applications can leverage new and enhanced BOSS features. As always, the FKI Logistex BOSS control system seamlessly integrates with the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to exchange carton data, including information based on specific plans, current, and actual routes.
