Application background
The design scale of Baogang Group’s Barun Mining beneficiation project is 10 million tons/year of raw ore processing capacity. The entire process includes: closed circuit crushing, grinding and beneficiation, weak magnetic separation, reverse flotation and sulfur reduction beneficiation, and tailings concentration.

Due to the cold climate in the north and the presence of many large mechanical equipment in mineral processing plants, it is required that the hardware products of the control system can be well used in harsh environments. Users hope to improve the management of the entire company and reach international advanced levels through automated systems. At the same time, the system also needs to communicate with equipment such as mills and crushers, which puts high demands on the openness of the system.
Solution
GE PPS provides a new generation of hybrid control system PPS to meet the needs of users to implement production control in iron ore processing plants. The control system of this project consists of three parts, namely: human-machine interface, controller, and I/O card. The entire system structure diagram is as follows:
