Description
GE IC693CPU374-GU Communication Mode
The GE IC693CPU374-GU is a free port mode that uses a custom PLC program to control the communication port of the S7-200 CPU to communicate with the outside world using a user-defined communication protocol. This mode supports both ASCII and binary protocols. The free port mode is simple and flexible to use, but requires specialized programming of the PLC. Because the amount of data required for wireless remote control is small, the free-port communication mode was chosen through comparison to transfer commands and feedback between the handheld operator and the PLC in the form of ASCII codes. A special wireless control program is written within the PLC to realize data communication and control of the manipulator in the wireless control state.
The function of GE IC693CPU374-GU wireless data transmission module is only to realize the wireless communication function between PLC and handheld operator. For PLC and CPU in handheld operator, there is no difference in programming between wireless communication through wireless data transmission module and wired communication through serial port directly connected.
GE IC693CPU374-GU microcontroller and wireless data transmission module communication interface can choose any of the three interface modes, either a simple direct connection; to improve stability, you can also use 232 or 485 chip level conversion and then connected to the digital transmission module. In order to maintain better scalability, we have chosen the RS-232 interface standard.
