After analysis, it is believed that the following reasons may cause communication failures:
1) The system configuration is too large. In theory, the CENTUM XL DCS system can be configured with 32 stations, generally not exceeding 50%. Jiujiang Plant has configured 18 stations, reaching 57%. However, some domestic manufacturers have larger configurations. The DCS configuration of Inner Mongolia Fertilizer Plant and Lanzhou Fertilizer Plant is exactly the same as that of Jiujiang Plant, but no similar faults have occurred. 2) There is an additional station 23 defined in the DCS system configuration screen, which is an empty station; In the configuration diagram of Station 6, two more multipoint analog input/output cards (MAC2 cards) have been defined. If there are defined communication systems, they must be accessed and the communication burden must be increased. 3) There are defects in the DCS system of the urea plant. During the unpacking inspection in 1996, it was found that the control station and signal converter cabinet of the system had been corroded by seawater during transportation. At that time, the foreign party only replaced the signal converter cabinet. After several years of use, the card failure rate of the control station of this system is much higher than that of the DCS control station of synthetic ammonia. In the three communication failures that occurred, the control station of this system underwent switch of control cards.
