Description
For Optimal Control and Safe Operation of Switching Stations – REC670
REC670 – Maximum flexibility and performanceThe REC670 intelligent microcomputer protection device offers user-defined or pre-configured control solutions for all types of switchgear (AIS/GIS) and for switchgear of all wiring methods. The user-defined REC670 offers you complete freedom to choose the functions according to your needs. Since the basic functions of the REC670 have already been selected and configured in the device, the pre-configured REC670 can be put into operation with a simple operation. If desired, you can easily add optional functions to the REC670 unit to meet the specific configuration needs of your switching station.
The REC670 enables the user to realize manual control of on-load voltage regulation via the substation automation system. The REC670 enables manual control of on-load voltage regulation via the substation automation system. You can also equip a REC670 with the advanced automatic transformer tap control (AVC) function, thus eliminating the need to install a special voltage control device if the transformer protection is not equipped with a corresponding automatic voltage control function in the station.
Integration of functions saves costs —— The REC670 and REC650 spacer control unit functions both contain circuit breaker failure protection, eliminating the need for separate circuit breaker failure protection, thus reducing costs and increasing usability. the REC650 incorporates the failure protection of a single circuit breaker in one unit, while the REC670 incorporates the failure protection of all circuit breakers of different wiring methods, as well as simultaneous, automatic, reclosing and back-up protection functions, in a single unit. The REC670 integrates in one device the failure protection of all circuit breakers of different wiring types, as well as simultaneous, automatic reclosing and backup protection functions, thus saving installation space and investment in the project. In addition, the device’s local human-machine interface can replace the traditional analog screen, reducing a large number of cable wiring and eliminating the need for intermediate relays.
Capacitor banks are more susceptible to damage among the various anomalies in the power system. The REC670 is configured with capacitor bank protection to detect dangerous operating conditions and trip the capacitor units before they are damaged.
The REC670’s capacitor bank protection includes overcurrent protection, undercurrent protection, harmonic overload protection, reactive power overload protection with commissioning blocking characteristics. These features, together with the RET670’s original protection functions, such as unbalance protection based on overcurrent protection, provide complete protection for the capacitor bank.
