The basic functions of ETT-VGA-0045 include: switch opening and closing control indication function; over-current, over-voltage, and over-heat alarm and protection functions for equipment and test specimens; and various operation interlocking functions, such as interlocking protection functions between the 10kV power circuit breaker in the power switchgear cabinet and manual disconnecting switches in the isolation switchgear cabinet, the door contacts of the control room, and the door contacts of the test hall, etc., as well as the related alarm prompting screen. These functions can avoid mistakes in the operation sequence.

The communication function of ETT-VGA-0045 PLC is strong, and there are various communication methods for users to choose, such as: single-master method, multi-master method and remote communication method using modem. In this measurement and control device, I use the single-master mode. After installing the STEP 7-Micro/WIN32 programming software on a personal computer (PC) running Windows or Windows NT operation, the PC can be used as the master station in communication.

The ETT-VGA-0045 can be connected to one or more slaves, and the STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 communicates with one S7-200 CPU at a time, but has access to all CPUs on the network. the hardware configuration for this communication method is a cable connector from the PLC to the PC communication port, i.e., an isolated PC/PPI cable with an RS-232 port, and the baud rate and other configuration items can be set with the five dip switches. switches to set the baud rate and other configuration items.
