Description
EMERSON SLS1508 Logic Solver
EMERSON SLS1508 provides direct access from a PC to remote serial devices as if these products were local, reducing the typical port count and distance limitations of PC hardware. The supplied Windows utility automatically displays all EMERSON SLS1508 units on the LAN and allows simultaneous configuration/monitoring of one or more EMERSON SLS1508 systems —- Mass deployment is simple. In addition, users can receive event notifications for proactive monitoring and response as the unit supports S-Multifunction systems and SRMP traps. In addition, the unit provides secure data transfer, centralised access control and MODBUS Ethernet support for serial. The EMERSON SLS1508 offers a variety of “Beyond IP” methods of controlling serial devices – from browser logins, to stand-alone serial network device management AP programs, to telecoms network/SSH terminal access. Recognising the importance of secure data transmission to operations, the SS3101 provides 128-bit SSL serial data encryption for use in TCP server, TCP client, virtual modem and serial tunneling modes of operation. Administrators can authenticate user logins and authorise individual users via Radius, LDAP, LDAPS and Microsoft Active Directory servers. The SS3101 supports network-to-serial data transfer over MODBUS, providing a bridge for seamless integration of MODBUS devices). Enter any serial network.
EMERSON SLS1508 uses a PLC-controlled positioning actuator to work on one axis. Gantry robot systems are primarily used to stack and move wood, metal, plastic, glass or other materials. The Quick Module effectively replaces the PLC-controlled gantry with sequential motion commands that can be customised for specific tasks. The essentially synchronised travel profile results in much less wear and tear on the machine’s mechanical components than point-to-point positioning. More intelligent path planning means that machines can be designed for higher energy efficiency and faster operation using smaller drives.
EMERSON SLS1508 is based on an open Part 4 for all spindles and auxiliary axes and utilises the IEC 61131 programming environment, a fast software technology that allows the integration of additional drive tasks such as upstream and downstream conveyors using the same controller and inverter drives. Kinematic modelling simplifies the steps required to integrate the robot into the overall automation system. Even complex drive systems requiring multi-axis coordination can be programmed quickly. By simplifying the engineering process, the Quick Module allows design engineers to spend more time optimising the characteristics of the value-added machine.
