D20 EME 10BASE-T Meet low latency and fast response times


The D20 EME 10BASE-T module is built on the Profichip PLC7001 chip. The previous generation product PLC7000 has been in use for nearly 4 years and has over 20000 application instances worldwide. PLC7001 is based on the core technology of PLC7000 and provides extended IO characteristics directly on the chip, with up to 32 digital inputs and 24 digital outputs. The I/O interface can be configured to provide advanced user functionality. For example, many hardware counter modes. The 16 digital inputs of D20 EME 10BASE-T can be used for chip based alarm functions, meeting low latency and fast response times in harsh system conditions, as well as providing the ability to accurately capture fast event times.

The built-in real-time clock of D20 EME 10BASE-T can be powered by external battery buffering, allowing for precise timestamp and clock synchronization control tasks. The SSI interface of the rotary encoder, 4-channel PWM (pulse width modulation), and stepper motor control interface will be supported in future firmware updates. If more than 56 digital I/O bits or analog functions are required, a serial I/O bus should be provided, which can connect up to 32 peripheral modules compatible with the VIPA system 200V/300V or other supplier’s peripheral modules for communication.
