The series of flight activities in August 2011 set the itinerary for Embraer and General Electric to develop biofuel projects in the future. The project that these two companies will be engaged in is the fuel generated by additional chemicals and production routes being considered in the industry. Fuel suppliers from various countries around the world, including many Brazilian fuel suppliers, are currently studying these fuels.
“Embraer and General Electric plan to conduct biofuel testing and demonstration activities of the American Society for Testing Materials in the future. This may involve a lot of work, from additional fuel production routes and chemicals to the possibility of increasing the HEFA mixing level.” Laurent Rouaud, marketing director of GE Aerospace Group, said. This flight also proves that aircraft and engine manufacturers are also interested in limiting their current net carbon emissions in product development activities, and in establishing early production demands in collaboration with manufacturers for the benefit of the entire aviation industry
