Description

ABB REC670 —— Reliability Of Operation

REC670 – Maximum flexibility and performanceThe REC670 intelligent microcomputer protection device offers user-defined or pre-configured control solutions for all types of switchgear (AIS/GIS) and for switchgear of all wiring methods. The user-defined REC670 offers you complete freedom to choose the functions according to your needs. Since the basic functions of the REC670 have already been selected and configured in the device, the pre-configured REC670 can be put into operation with a simple operation. If desired, you can easily add optional functions to the REC670 unit to meet the specific configuration needs of your switching station.

The REC670 enables the user to realize manual control of on-load voltage regulation via the substation automation system. You can also equip a REC670 with advanced automatic transformer tap control (AVC), thus eliminating the need to install a special voltage control device if the transformer protection in the station is not equipped with a corresponding automatic voltage control function.

In addition to the interlocking function, the REC670/650 units are equipped with continuous monitoring of the outlet relays, which guarantees a high level of control safety and prevents unnecessary operation. The unit continuously monitors the status of the outlet relay and reports any errors. Using the same technology as ABB’s other 670 and 650 series protection and control devices, the spacer control unit meets the stringent EMC requirements for protective relays, providing safe control of your primary equipment.
