The identifier and body of the 8610-FT-NA depend on the received linkage command from the host computer. The end code indicates the status of the command completion (i.e., whether or not an error has occurred), and it must be divided into frames when the answer exceeds 132 characters. The end code is the information in the answer frame that indicates the answer from the PLC. Example end codes are 00 for normal end, 13 for FCS error, 14 for format error, 15 for entry code data error, 18 for frame length error, A3 for termination due to FCS error while transmitting data, and A8 for termination due to frame length error while transmitting data.

The setting switch of the RS232 / 422 converter is dialled to the 422 method, and the COM06 communication board unit on the OMRON PLC is similarly set to the 422 method and the four-wire system. The communication baud rate of the upper and lower units is set to 9600, and the data format is set to E, 7, 2.
