The 8106-TI-RT system has more substations, a wide geographical area, and the system requires high reliability, so redundancy is used in the network structure. The double-layer optical fibre ring network consists of two parallel single-layer optical fibre ring networks, and the main network components adopt MOXA’s optical fibre to RJ45 port optical fibre ring switches. In addition to the transmission distance of optical fibre network, the transmission signal is not easy to be interfered with the characteristics of the ring network, but also has the advantages of the ring network, in the ring network of any node disconnect or any point in the ring network disconnect, and will not affect the normal operation of the network, but only by the original ring network into a single-bus network structure, which improves the reliability of the network. The double-layer ring network structure itself has the function of redundancy, making the network more reliable.
The 8106-TI-RT is configured with redundant CPUs in each control station so that each station has redundant functions, and each has two fibre-optic ring switches for connecting the two-layer fibre-optic ring network.
