5501-470 Bidirectional Communication Gateway

The new Intesis PROFINET – BACnet IP/MSTP Protocol Converter for the 5501-470 is a cost-effective and easy-to-install gateway solution that provides bi-directional communication between PROFINET PLCs and BACnet controllers. The gateway is capable of connecting up to 1200 data points, with separate Ethernet ports for BACnet IP/MSTP servers/slaves on one side and PROFINET I/O devices on the other. The gateway is BTL certified for BACnet and carries the UL mark for the highest communication and quality standards. Due to its strategic location between plant and building systems, the gateway is an enabler for very interesting applications, such as energy metering of equipment and machines in the plant from a BACnet-based BMS system, HVAC monitoring and control from PROFINET PLCs, as well as simple alarm definition and management.

The 5501-470 provides a very intuitive configuration process for system integrators on both sides of the gateway, and MAPS helps integrators further their projects by providing valuable EDE files for BACnet integration, as well as GSD files and TIA Portal TAG files for quick configuration of any connected PROFINET PLC controller. Expanding the comprehensive range of existing Intesis BACnet protocol converters is the first in a new family of Intesis gateways for factory-to-building integration that HMS Networks will release over time. In these gateways, HMS combines its proven Anybus® and Intesis communications technologies for industrial and building communications, respectively, trusted by millions of installed customers worldwide.

The 5501-470 combines the benefits of IO-Link sensor communications with the EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP industrial Ethernet protocols.The IO-Link Master connects intelligent IO-Link sensors and actuators to the plant network while effectively insulating PLC programmers from IO-Link complexity. This simplifies the EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP interfaces, reducing system development time and installation effort.The IO-Link Master 4-EIP connects IO-Link sensors to EtherNet/IP and Modbus industrial networks, providing access to IO-Link sensor process, event and service data. It features a rugged IP67 slim design and includes M12 connectors, two Fast Ethernet ports for network connectivity, and four IO-Link ports for IO-Link device connectivity Comtrol’s IODD auto-recognition feature uses stored IODD files of IO-Link sensors for auto-discovery and default configuration.
