Unlike previous ABB converters, ACS600 converters use Fiber-optic communication, which greatly improves the communication time between the CPU board and the I/O board, but may also cause “LINK OR HWC” and “PPCC LINK” failures, which are not absolutely the same as the damage of optical fibers. The “PPCC LINK” fault is a common fault in ACS600 frequency converters, and damage to the CPU board and I/O board may cause this fault to occur. The switch power supply is damaged, which can also be encountered in ACS600 frequency converters. The fault mainly occurs on the switch tube. Due to the short circuit of the switch tube, it often leads to the burning of a power resistor used for current limiting. The “SHORT CIRCUIT” output short circuit fault is the most common type of fault we have encountered. ACS600 adopts intelligent modules, and load faults and some problems in use can cause module damage. Module damage often comes with damage to the drive board. Due to the high cost of spare parts, the cost of repairing the frequency converter is also relatively high, so higher requirements are put forward for maintenance personnel at the board level.
