Description

3BE101 AlSTHOM Communication Module

Designed to meet industrial-grade standards, the 3BE101 utilizes Moxa’s GuaranLink technology and OnCell Central Manager software for stable cellular connectivity and easy configuration, management, and monitoring of remote devices on Internet private networks. It supports universal quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and penta-band UMTS/HSPA 850/800, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz.The OnCell G3111-HSPA can be used on a desktop or mounted on a DIN rail. It is equipped with a 12 to 48 VDC power input with 2 KV EFT/surge protection, allowing the use of different types of field power. The serial port is protected by a 15 KV ESD line to ensure that the system is protected from accidental discharges. 2G users on the AT&T network will need to upgrade or migrate their existing hardware. The nationwide carrier has announced plans to eliminate its 2G support and is scheduled to shut down its network on January 1, 2017, entirely. Although 3G technology serves more than 1.5 billion subscribers globally, industrial carriers continue to face obstacles when implementing 3G cellular networks on the plant floor. These barriers include the high price of 3G products, the lack of industry standards for harsh environments, unstable signal connections over long distances, difficulties in deploying different interfaces, and the problem of managing multiple devices over the cellular network. Industrial operators continue to face obstacles when implementing 3G cellular networks on the factory floor. The 3BE101 provides secure access to assets and helps reduce operational costs associated with travel costs and time away from the primary site. The MRD-350 is an industrial mobile broadband router designed for remote access over cellular networks and to cost-effectively interconnect systems using the Internet, allowing HMIs, PLCs and other devices to communicate with each other. With uplink capacity of up to 5.7 Mbit/s and downlink capacity of up to 14.4 Mbit/s, the router is suitable for high data rate transmission. Typical mobile or static applications include video surveillance, SCADA/DNP3 telemetry systems, and remote access to machines and equipment. For solar-powered applications, where energy efficiency is critical, the MRD-350 features a special low-power mode that fully powers up the unit only when needed. The MRD-350 supports a wide range of wireless standards, including GSM, GPRS, 3G UMTS, HSDPA, and HSUPA.The MRD-350 supports dual SIM cards, ensuring that site connectivity is not dependent on a single operator. In the event of a carrier network failure, the device automatically switches to the backup SIM card. Problems caused by ground loops are prevented by isolating the PSU from the Ethernet and serial ports. Devices connected to the Internet require countermeasures against cyber threats. the MRD-350 prevents malicious eavesdropping by encrypting communication tunnels – a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The device also features a simple but powerful packet inspection firewall. Using the on-board web interface, VPN tunnels running between sites can be easily set up even on unsecured networks such as the Internet.
