- Discriminating pin: place the multimeter in（ × 10 or × 1) Measure the resistance between any two pins of the thyristor. When the indication is low, the black lead is connected to the control electrode, the red lead is connected to the cathode, and the remaining pin is the anode. In other cases, the resistance should be infinite, otherwise the transistor may be broken.

- Trigger detection: place the multimeter in the（ × 10 or × 1) Connect the black probe to the anode and the red probe to the cathode. The multimeter indicates no (zero bias). At this time, if the control electrode contacts the black probe, the multimeter should indicate conduction (close to full bias). Even if the control electrode is disconnected, as long as the anode and cathode keep in contact with the probe, the conduction state can be maintained. If the above measurement process can be carried out smoothly, the tube is broken.
Measurement method of diode
Place the multimeter in the（ × 100 or × 1K), the two probes are respectively connected to the two electrodes of the diode. After measuring one result, switch the two probes to measure another result. Among the results of the two measurements, the resistance of the first measurement is larger (reverse resistance) and the resistance of the first measurement is smaller (forward resistance). The greater the difference between the forward and reverse resistance values, the better the unidirectional conductivity of the diode.
If the forward and reverse resistance values are close to zero, it means that the diode has been broken down and short circuited or leakage is serious. If the forward and reverse resistance values are infinite, it means that the diode has been open circuited and damaged.-
