The module combines measurement and control in one device, reducing equipment costs. At the same time, the system is fully factory tested and maintained, virtually eliminating downtime due to equipment failure. The module is fully CSA/US Class 1, Designer 2 certified, enabling it to be safely installed at the measurement site. The system also eliminates the need for third-party termination boxes, reducing costs and saving significant labour time. the XL unit can further reduce costs by accepting one or two safety interface barriers (sibs) for connecting up to six ThermoScience automated/intelligent multivariable transmitters; this can increase the number of instrument runs while making the purchase of an additional flow computer unnecessary. The equipment is supported by Thermo Scientific Fischer’s long legacy of high quality instrumentation and a complete factory test procedure, reducing field failures and associated downtime.
