Description

MINI-UTDE 10 BASE-T Ethernet Connectivity Module

MINI-UTDE 10 BASE-T will create, purchase, and deliver systems and infrastructure to ensure the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of the mine, concentrator, and hydroelectric plant. GE will supply integrated automation and electrification systems, such as power infrastructure and equipment, control systems, other automation equipment and software, and continuous field services. Additionally, ABB will work with external suppliers to guarantee efficient project delivery and operational effectiveness throughout the customer’s lifecycle. “Since the inception of this initiative, GE has remained devoted to the cause and remains a valuable partner and collaborative participant within the project team,” stated Brasas, Nemaska Lithium’s President and CEO. “Our competitive project was made possible by Nemaska’s local and global teams, as well as their expertise in the mining industry and execution skills. They employed the latest digital automation and power technologies to ensure the long-term sustainability of our business.

In magnetic flow meters, proper grounding is very important. Most liquid streams produce very weak electromotive forces (1 mV or less!), so noise voltages from stray currents in pipes and/or liquids may easily overshadow them.) Therefore, noise voltages generated by stray currents in the pipeline and/or the liquid may easily overshadow them. To solve this problem, magnetic flowmeters are usually equipped with a grounded conductor placed around the flow tube to shunt (bypass) stray currents, so that the only voltage intercepted by the electrodes will be the kinematic electromotive force generated by the flow of the liquid, rather than the voltage drop generated by stray currents through the liquid resistance. When the MINI-UTDE 10 BASE-T fluid tube is installed in the process line, this common connection point should also be combined with a functional ground. On this particular flow tube, you can see a stainless steel grounding ring near the surface of the flange, connected to a braided grounding strap. There is an identical grounding ring on the other flange, but it is not clearly visible in this photo. These rings provide an electrical contact point with the liquid in installations where the pipe is made of plastic, or in installations where the pipe is metal but lined with plastic material to prevent corrosion. A simple solution to this problem is to replace the polarity of the magnetic field so that the polarity of the electromotive force also changes, never giving the fluid ions enough time to depolarise.
