Description

EMERSON CON021 Vibration Sensor

The EMERSON CON021 provides fast, cost-effective control for food packaging, renewable energy, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications worldwide. Modular XC programmable logic controllers (PLCS) help reduce costs and are scalable to meet the needs of individual and changing automation systems in small to medium-sized systems. The modular PLCs include the XC100 and XC200 devices. For small to medium-sized control tasks, the controllers provide powerful control and integrated Canadian open fieldbus interfaces for fast, efficient communications. When additional communication and high processing power is required, the controllers have an Ethernet interface and an optional integral Web server in addition to the RS232 interface and Open Fieldbus Canada connection. Providing customizable control, XC controllers are easily expandable with compact, high-speed input/output (I/O) modules. Up to 15 HIOC local expansion modules can be connected directly to each controller and can be used in a variety of high-density channel, analog, temperature, counter and communication modules. In addition, the XC controller has eight digital inputs and six digital outputs as standard. Ethernet access provides efficient communication between the controller and the data exchanged to higher level control systems using communication standards including Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) for Process Control (OPC).

The controller utilizes the IEC 61131-3 compliant CODESY programming environment to support interoperability with multiple vendor devices. The code set has a range of features for programming, testing and debugging that simplify and organize program documentation, diagnostics and debugging. Accurate synthetic documentation can be automatically generated to aid in reverse engineering, whether for new development based on legacy code or for maintenance and modernization. Unfortunately, code is often the only documentation available, and working on an undocumented program is always a waste of time. In addition, writing documentation manually is tiresome and error-prone. The need for a consistent format and the tedium of the work requires a tool-based automation approach. The module automatically generates a data-flow oriented view of the PLC program (from inputs to outputs) represented by formulas and flowcharts, thus abstracting the actual sequential execution of the program. This view is the perfect intermediate formalism between the specification and the code itself. It is independent of the programming style and type of PLC hardware on which the program runs. In addition, modules can be parameterized to use any type of documentation template (header blocks, symbols, …), thus ensuring consistent formatting of all documentation.
