HONEYWELL CC-PAON01 ‘s Integration of best-practice procedural operations for system startup and shutdown improves operator performance. Honeywell, along with members of the Abnormal Situation Management (ASM®) consortium, has designed procedural operations software and services to prevent system outages by leveraging the knowledge that operators have built up over years of executing cyclic procedures, which is often otherwise lost to personnel changes. Retaining this knowledge is critical: ASM studies have shown that 14 per cent of all accidents are caused in some way by improperly executed operating procedures; one project even reported that it lost $12 million over a four-year period.
The CC-PAON01 controller, which provides powerful, robust control for the platform, is embedded with Honeywell’s proven Control Execution Environment (CEE) software. The controller shares information with the controller and is equipped with the same configuration tools, demonstrating Honeywell’s commitment to protecting customer investments.
The upgraded Fieldbus Interface Module (FIM) continues Honeywell’s tradition of providing scalable, cost-effective Fieldbus integration solutions.The C-Series FIM provides four H1 link interfaces, doubling the number of link channels and reducing the number of FIMs required. The modules are configured for redundancy, with the networking module mounted on Honeywell’s patented fault-tolerant Ethernet.
