We have designed a very flexible and programmable engine management system using a CompactRIO programmable automation controller. The platform is modular, expandable with additional sensors, and includes a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)
Challenge:
Develop an efficient and low emission adaptive engine control unit (ECU) to control engines running on standard gasoline, hydrogen, syngas, or fuel mixtures.
Solution:
Simulate, test, and control the engine using the NI LabVIEW FPGA module and NI CompactRIO, and achieve dynamic adaptive control.
