It is generally believed that the compressive strength of cement is 35-40MPa for 3d and 60-70MPa for 28d, which is considered an international advanced level; 3D is 30MPa, and 28d is 60MPa, which is the international general level. I think this formulation and using this standard to measure the quality of cement in China are not very suitable. The cement grade depends on the concrete process requirements. Foreign cement standards such as those of EU countries stipulate that the maximum compressive strength of 32.5 cement after 28 days should not exceed 52.5MPa, and the proportion of 32.5 cement is about 60%. The German specification for the use of cement for concrete road pavement published in 1999 clearly stipulates that the concrete for concrete road pavement should generally use CEM I type Portland cement with a strength grade of 32.5R, which is equivalent to China’s P · II type Portland cement. It also stipulates that the compressive strength should not exceed 29MPa in 3D. The 60m wide new runway built at Stuttgart Airport in Germany in 1996 uses CEM I 32.5R cement that complies with road cement regulations. CEM I 42.5R cement is only used during winter construction. From the development trend of concrete grades, it is natural to develop towards higher grades. However, by 1998, B25 was still the main type of concrete in Germany, accounting for 65% and B45 for 5%.
